METALAC, as an environmental friendly company got the ISO 14001 certification for the Environmental Management System in July 2003.
Environment: the surroundings where the Company operates, that is, water, soil, air, natural resources, the fauna, the flora, the human beings and their interrelations. The concern about the environment starts inside Metalac and goes through the neighborhood affected by the company.
Metalac is committed to keeping a good relationship with all its business partners: customers, suppliers, contractors, community and employees and to achieve this target made its “Code of Ethics and Business Conduct”, in wich there are ethical standards to run the business.
It is expected that everybody follows the basic principles of honesty and professionalism when running the business of the company and also that they are in conformity with the policy of this Code. In case of violation of these policies, the company has a communication channel which shall be used to report any kind of violation.
This communication channel is kept confidentially and anonymously. Once a violation is reported, the company shall carry out all the investigations and shall make the corrective actions so as to maintain the integrity of the principles of the Code.

Much has been said about socially responsible company which became citizens when invested in social projects in the community they operate. The work and the initiative developed by these companies is noteworthy, once their aim is to build a more balanced society.
The social responsibility is present in the relationship of our Company with all the involved parties in our activities – customers, employees, suppliers, contractors, shareholders, government and environment.
Metalac SPS, committed to this social responsibility, strives to not only help but also contribute to the social transformation in a responsible way, through supporting social projects that benefit the involved parties. Among these we can highlight the work performed by Associação Filantrópica XII de Outubro – Creche Elizabeth Milko (Nursery School) that accommodates 120 children from 0 to 6 years old, following closely the socio-emotional, cognitive and psychomotor development.



In the cultural area, Metalac participates as founder and sponor of FUNDEC - Fundação de Desenvolvimento Cultural de Sorocaba, non profit organization having as main goals the sponsorship, support and incentive to all the movements that promove culture and arts, especially in Sorocaba. This foundation supports and manages the Symphonic Orchestra of Sorocaba and participated in the classical musical school foundation and inn the creation of the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Sorocaba.
Committed to the benefits that leisure and sports bring to the health of the employees, the Company invested in the construction of a large Sports Center, attached to its plant , which is made of a social center, swimming pool and poly sportive courts, besides kiosk, where there are tournaments, and celebrations thus promoting the integration of the employees and their families.
